Here is some devastating deep house from Ukraine. We were blown away by Vakula’s beautifully deep RA.311 mix a few weeks back and just can’t get enough of this fresh talent at the moment. Vakula (real name Mikhaylo Vityk) certainly was one of the most innovative and promising Techno-House-artists in the last two years. Hailing from Kiev / Ukraine he’s the Dracula of Deephouse, the new-born Duke of Dubtechno, bringing fresh blood to the scene. Vakula has mined further and more thoroughly into classic US house tropes than anyone in recent memory. He’s released a staggering volume of 12-inches for labels like Firecracker, Dekmantel and Shevchenko over the last few years betray an unwavering commitment and deep-seated comprehension of the style. This mix here has been on repeat all week, a sexy and truly deep journey that’s a perfect soundtrack to these hot summer nights!
The other side. Luca Bacchetti is taking you on a journey through dub, jazz, experimental, house, ambient, trip hop, world music, a real soundtrack for your summer nights opening with Fleetwood Mac’s “Albatros”. Hailing from the small Tuscan town of Lucca, Luca Bacchetti is one of the foremost proponents of the seminal swing sound coming from the peninsula and abroad. Currently residing in Barcelona, the DJ, producer and co- label head makes swift business of spreading his signature twists and musical turns through myriad productions and remixes. As a DJ, Bacchetti’s style is incomparable, showcasing his unique ear for selection and rare ‘voice’ to which he adds a sexiness uncommon amongst his peers. Equally versed at moving a dark basement club to fits of revelry as he is to casting a deep shadow across a sunny beach party, the breadth and depth of sources from which Luca culls his sets astounds constantly. It is this duality of emotion that interests the DJ and inspires the work on many releases. Including partnering up with his long time friend Luca C as Luca & Brigante, who released last summers smash hit “Different Morals” with Ali Love on vocals.

My Favorite Robot - Party Promo Mix by Tim Paris featuring vocals from Sex Judas
Toronto’s My Favorite Robot has had an incredible time over the last year with a string of outstanding releases from the likes of Sid LeRock, DeadEcho, Nitin, Tim Paris, Tiger Stripes and of course the Robots themselves. The Label is also launching it’s first major full length album project with Jori Hulkkonen this summer! Not to mention they just opened DC-10 in Ibiza this week and are preparing to hit the beach at this year’s Sonar event in Barcelona for a PARTY that will showcase the best of what the Robots have to offer on Tuesday June 12th at Macarena Mar! Tim Paris follows up his recent EP on MFR with an amazing set here, as always with the My Favorite Robot style, we are loving the use of vocals creating a sexy yet deep and dark vibe!
Lee Curtiss dropped his massive, dirty and unreleased track “I Can Make Your Body Twitch” at TV Bar on Sunday morning and the crowd went off! Lee just keep getting deeper and deeper and had full control of the crowd, concluding with Cajmere’s “Perclator” (Jamie Jones Vault mix). Lee Curtiss then passed the controls over to Tale of Us vs. Life and Death who continued to go deeper and darker, what a morning, only in Detroit!
